The original Invisible Man is still great fun, and a warning about what happens when a scientist stops thinking about the consequences of his work. The effects must have been astonishing in 1933. Scientifically, though, there's one big problem I can't get past: an invisible man would be blind! To see anything, your eyes have to absorb light. If light passes straight through you, nothing is absorbed - so you'd see nothing at all. How did he find his way around? The film never asks.
